In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the project Analysis of the impact of solar power source on protection coordination on the electricity distribution grid of the republic of mozambique is presented in 4 chapters, including: Chapter 1: Overview of the Distribution Grid and Its Protection System; Chapter 2: Overview of Distributed Energy Sources and Their Impact on the Distribution Grid; Chapter 3: Analysis of the Impact of Distributed Energy Sources on Distribution Grid Protection; Chapter 4: Analysis and Assessment of the Impact of Solar Power Sources on Protection Coordination in the Distribution Grid of the Republic of Mozambique. The project has conducted research on analyzing the impact of solar power sources on protection coordination in the distribution grid. Propose solutions to ensure the selectivity of protection devices in the distribution grid when solar power sources are connected. From there, the integration of solar power into distribution grids significantly affects protection systems, particularly by increasing short-circuit current, which can damage equipment and compromise the selectivity of protective relays. This thesis focuses on analyzing the impact of the 40 MW Mocuba Solar Power Plant on the protection system of a 15 kV distribution network in Mozambique. Results show that the location and capacity of the solar power source greatly influence relay settings and protection device response times. Issues such as fuses operating outside their protection zones or improper relay reclosing may lead to outages and reduced grid reliability. The thesis proposes adjustment solutions to enhance protection system performance when integrating solar power into the distribution network.
