This thesis was carried out to clarify the identification characteristics of the auditing terminology system in English and Vietnamese by contrasting the identification characteristics of the auditing terminology system in two languages. The thesis has pointed out the basic features of terms, distinguishing some layers of vocabulary with other terminologies: terminologies with nomenclature; terminology with profession; terminology standards; the problem of terminology identification as well as some issues related to auditing and auditing terminology. In order to create a theoretical framework for the collating of auditing terminologies in English and Vietnamese, the basic issues of collating linguistics and terminologies have been clarified. On that basis, the methods, principles and methods of collative research are shown. 517 English auditing terminologies were surveyed and contrasted with 517 Vietnamese auditing terminologies in terms of identification characteristics of English and Vietnamese auditing terminologies according to semantics and expressions of terminologies. The result of this research is one of the important foundations for researching the translation of English auditing terminology into Vietnamese, teaching English for auditing, and compiling dictionary, and other relevant researches.
