Social media integration into language education programs now enables students to develop their English speaking abilities through Technology-Enhanced Language Learning. Research about TikTok's educational value in specific subjects has become more popular because the platform offers short videos with multiple formats and creative content but scientists have not studied its teaching success enough. The research examines how TikTok-based speaking activities affect first-year Music Education students at the National University of Art Education in Vietnam regarding their speaking abilities and their opinions about speaking. The research used a mixed-methods design to study 35 first-year Music Education students (K15A-SPAN) who had A2 English proficiency at A2 level. The research used pre-test and post-test speaking assessments to measure students' fluency, pronunciation, accuracy, and coherence, which served as quantitative data. The research collected student self-assessment data through questionnaires which served as qualitative information. The eight-week intervention included TikTok-based speaking activities which included musical storytelling and role-play and reflective video production. The research results show that students achieved better speaking abilities through their speaking development which fluency improved the most followed by pronunciation and then coherence and accuracy. The students demonstrated better English communication skills and they became more motivated to speak while their self-assurance about English usage grew stronger. The research demonstrates that TikTok functions as an effective additional resource which helps students improve their English speaking abilitiese specially those who study artistic and performance-based subjects.
