Abstract:

This e-book is designed as a helpful resource for international students at any stage of their academic experience, and offers relevant information, advice, and strategies known to be helpful for successful transitions. There is a specific focus on post-secondary study in Ontario, but all international students studying in Canada should find something useful here. Students will find information related to finances, housing, shopping, driving, finding community, language, campus life, and study strategies. The e-book will help students in the development of appropriate academic, learning, and study skills, and the ability to find and make use of relevant resources of support and community. This will help students become full–of–resources that will serve them well as they make the various transitions into and through post-secondary education. The content of this document was created by staff at the University of Toronto with expertise in academic resourcefulness, learning strategy development, and the international student experience. It also includes audio and video content from other international students currently studying in Ontario who offer insights from their own experiences.
