From the perspective of the field of Chemistry, Crystallography in a Nutshell (Ripoll & Cano) provides a concise and systematic introduction to crystallography - the science that studies the structure and properties of matter at the atomic level. The book presents the basic principles of chemical crystallography, including: the concepts of crystal lattice, crystal systems, symmetry and space groups; methods for determining crystal structure such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), neutron and electron diffraction; along with the analysis, modeling and interpretation of molecular structure in chemical compounds. In addition, the author also mentions the relationship between crystal structure and chemical and physical properties of solids, helping readers understand how microstructure affects chemical reactions and behavior. In short, this is a concise, accessible document, helping students and researchers of Chemistry to master the theoretical basis and application of crystallography in the study of structure and synthesis of matter
