Dòng chảy chất lỏng trong môi trường đá xốp, mạng lưới đứt gãy và môi trường hạt là lĩnh vực nghiên cứu liên ngành giữa vật lý, khoa học Trái đất và kỹ thuật. Lĩnh vực này có vai trò quan trọng trong nhiều quá trình như khai thác hydrocarbon, lưu trữ carbon địa chất, dòng chảy nước ngầm, làm ướt và khô đất, xử lý ô nhiễm, sạt lở, hoạt động núi lửa và quản lý chất thải phóng xạ. Các quá trình nén ép, xói mòn, nứt gãy, hòa tan, kết tủa và phản ứng hóa học có thể làm thay đổi cấu trúc và độ thấm của môi trường. Công trình tập hợp 15 nghiên cứu của 72 tác giả, tập trung vào mối liên hệ giữa các quá trình ở quy mô lỗ rỗng và những hiện tượng ở quy mô lớn hơn trong tự nhiên và kỹ thuật.
Abstract:
Fluid flow in porous, fractured, and granular media is an interdisciplinary research area spanning physics, Earth sciences, and engineering. It plays an important role in processes such as hydrocarbon recovery, geological carbon storage, groundwater flow, soil wetting and drying, contaminant remediation, landslides, volcanic activity, and radioactive waste management. Hydrodynamic instabilities and pore-scale heterogeneity often produce complex flow patterns, while compaction, erosion, fracture, dissolution, precipitation, and chemical reactions continuously modify permeability and solid structures. These interactions create dynamic feedback between fluid flow and the evolving porous medium across multiple spatial and temporal scales. This research collection presents 15 studies by 72 authors worldwide, highlighting current advances and challenges in connecting pore-scale processes with larger-scale geological and engineering phenomena.
