This book examines the CRISPR-based gene drive technology to eradicate malaria-carrying mosquitoes, and the ethical, regulatory, and philosophical debates surrounding genetic manipulation of nature. Using the case of the Anopheles gambiae mosquito, Laurie Zoloth asks whether humans should alter nature to end malaria, and what the long-term consequences might be.
