Chỉ dẫn địa lý (GI) là những dấu hiệu đặc biệt gắn kết các sản phẩm có chất lượng và uy tín với địa điểm hoặc khu vực sản xuất của chúng và do đó giúp nhận dạng và phân biệt các sản phẩm đó trên thị trường. Vào tháng 7 năm 2022, Tổ chức Lương thực và Nông nghiệp Liên hợp quốc (FAO) và Trung tâm hợp tác quốc tế về nghiên cứu nông học để phát triển hoạt động (CIRAD) hợp tác với Viện Sở hữu trí tuệ Thụy Sĩ (IPI) và oriGIn (Tổ chức Mạng lưới GI quốc tế), đã tập hợp hơn 200 đại diện của các nhà nghiên cứu, cơ quan công quyền, nhà sản xuất và các tổ chức tập thể của họ, các cơ quan công quyền và các tổ chức quốc tế từ 47 quốc gia để thảo luận về các nghiên cứu và thực tiễn gần đây về quan điểm toàn cầu về Chỉ dẫn địa lý. Abstract:

Geographical Indications (GI) are distinctive signs that associate products of quality and reputation with their place or area of production and thereby help identify and distinguish such products on the market. In July 2022, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le dével oppement (CIRAD) in collaboration with the Swiss Intellectual Property Institute (IPI) and oriGIn (Organization for an International GI Network), brought together more than 200 representatives of researchers, public authorities, producers and their collective organizations, public authorities and international organizations from 47 countries to discuss recent research and practices on global perspectives on Geographical Indications.The book presents a rich analysis of GI’s from the nature and legal definition to public and private management, market forces, sustainable development, intellectual property rights as well as consumer rights and welfare. This is an open access book.
