The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of six short silent animated videos on the English narrative writing skills of fourth-grade learners. The researcher conducted eight weeks of action research with eight students at the A1 Level (CEFR) to investigate vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, spelling, and creative writing. The data were gathered through pre- and post-tests, weekly writing assignments, semi-structured interviews, and teacher reflections. According to the study’s findings, all writing facets showed significant improvements; however, the study found that students improved most in lexical richness and grammatical accuracy, as well as in cohesion and spelling. Modal animated videos with short silent visuals increased students' storytelling imagination and creative writing in narratives. This study demonstrates that the use of visual media in writing activates language and narrative skills in students learning English as a second language. Further inquiry is encouraged to explore how it can function and be useful in other learning groupings and in other studies. The study suggests that additional research is needed to explore how long-term learning gains are sustained.
