Cuốn sách liên ngành này khám phá quá trình (tái) tái tạo tình trạng nghèo đói cùng cực của người Roma ở các chế độ kinh tế chính trị khác nhau. Các chương sách đi sâu vào phân tích so sánh lịch sử giữa nhiều ngành học và kết hợp các quan điểm phân tích sâu sắc ở cấp độ quốc gia với những quan điểm tập trung sâu vào một bối cảnh duy nhất. Tập trung vào quá trình sản xuất nghèo đói của người Roma ở Romania, các chương sách đề cập đến thông tin thực nghiệm về những chuyển đổi lịch sử của tình hình kinh tế của người Roma ở Romania từ thế kỷ 19 đến nay, về các quá trình công nghiệp hóa, phi công nghiệp hóa và tái công nghiệp hóa trên toàn cầu, quốc gia và địa phương tác động đến tình trạng nghèo đói của người Roma trong bảy thập kỷ qua, cũng như về vị trí lao động hiện tại, điều kiện nhà ở và thực tiễn di cư của người Roma ở các vùng địa lý khác nhau, từ Romania đến Na Uy.

Abstract:

This interdisciplinary book explores the (re)production of extreme poverty among the Roma across different political economy regimes. Chapters engage in comparative historical analysis across several disciplines and integrate perspectives steeped at the national level of analysis with those dwelling intensively on a single context. Focusing on the processes of manufacturing poverty among Roma in Romania, the chapters cover empirical information about the historical transformations of the economic situation of the Roma in Romania from the 19th century to the present, about global, national, and local processes of industrialization, deindustrialization, and reindustrialization impacting poverty among the Roma in the past seven decades, and about Roma people’s current labor positions, housing conditions, and migration practices in distinct geographies from Romania to Norway.
