The implementation of AI Chatbot into improving students’ speaking skills has recently been regarded as one of the most potential teaching methods at the universities in general and at Hanoi University of Industry in particular. Hence, the study “Utilizing AI Chatbot to enhance speaking skills of non-English majored students at Hanoi University of Industry” sheds light on exploring various aspects of enhancement in students’speaking skills with AI intervention as well as discovering the students’ attitudes towards the utilization of AI in studying English speaking skills. Employing a qualitative method, this action research was conducted with 30 nonEnglish majors at Hanoi University of Industry. They participated a pre-test at first to identify their initial linguistic level and find out the problems they are confronting with. Then they experienced studying speaking English with AI Chatbot facilitation. Finally, they joined a post-test to recognize the AI effects on their speaking skills. The data analysis collected from the questionnairs, test and observation form shows the expected outcome in which a vast majority of students foster vocabulary and sentence structures, improve pronunciation, boost fluency and accuracy and increase comprehensibility while speaking. Additionally, they demonstrate favorable perception of using AI chatbot in learning speaking skills. These findings make a remarkable contribution to spreading the application of AI-driven tools in EFL learning and teaching context.
