For its purpose, this study aimed to understand teachers' and students' perceptions of L1 use in EFL classes in a blended learning environment. The topic Perceptions of students and non-English major teachers about using L1 in the EFL classroom: A survey at a university in Hanoi carries out the main purpose of this research which is to understand perceptions. about L1 in the EFL classroom. Knowledge of non-English major students and lecturers using L1 in a B1 environment at a university in Hanoi. This research is important in providing insights into how L1 is used in EFL classrooms and how it affects teaching and learning, especially with the goal of improving the quality of teaching foreign language in the university environment. The research results are presented in 3 chapters, including: Chapter 1: Literature review; Chapter 2: Methodology; Chapter 3: Results and discussion. Based on related research results, the research topic aims to understand teachers' and students' perceptions about using L1 in EFL classes in a blended learning environment. It shows how to use L1 effectively to support teaching and learning with recommendations from teachers and students.
